An original British Army wool V-Neck jumper dated 1951 and in deadstock, unworn condition.
This pattern of jumper was introduced in the immediate post-war period with the pattern being unchanged from that used throughout the Second World War. The main difference between this and the earlier version is the colour, these later examples being a darker green colour.
The jumper is a machine knit made of wool. It features a V-neck and long sleeves with a cuff. Inside the jumper the original label is still present and states the manufacturer as 'EKLAF' the size as 3 and bears the date of 1951. The War department broad arrow is also present.
The jumper is cut in a typically period fashion and is therefore short in the body. It features broad shoulders and high armholes. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 22"
Shoulders - 19 3/4"
Length - 24"
The sweater is in great condition as can be seen in the pictures. It appears to be in deadstock, unworn condition and displays extremely well.
A nice original British military jumper which would be hard to better!
