An original pair of theatre made jungle green shorts dating from the 1950s and in good condition.
These shorts are typical of those worn by mens serving in the British Army and RAF during the 1950s. They are clearly theatre made as is commonplace with tropical uniforms, most likely in India or the Far East. The lightweight cotton used for the pocket bags as well as the hand stitch button holes are typical of theatre made items such as this.
The shorts feature a button fly, belt loops and waist adjusters. Slash pockets can be found in the side seams and the front fastens with a double button tab.
The shorts should fit someone of around a 31" waist, depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/4"
Rise - 14 3/4"
Rear rise - 18"
The shorts are in good condition and whilst they have clearly been worn and laundered they display well. They still have plenty of wear left in them but please remember that they are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers and may have small issues consummate with their age.
A nice pair of original 1950s Jungle Green shorts in a hard to find larger size.
