An original pair of British military khaki drill trousers dating from the 1950s which are in good condition.
These trousers are a well made pair, typical of the quality items purchased by many British officers. They are made from a khaki tan coloured cotton and feature a high rise waist and button fly. The trousers feature twin pleats to the front, straight slash pockets to each hip, a separate waistband and no rear pockets. All of these are common features to find on British made trousers from this period and they could easily pass as 1940s. Turn ups are fitted to the bottom of each leg and belt loops are positioned around that waist - nice period features.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 30" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Waist - 15"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 32"
Outside leg - 45"
Cuff - 8 3/4"
The trousers are in good condition and have clearly been well looked after. They show signs of wear and there is some minor staining etc as can be seen in the pictures but are still very wearable. Overall they present very well but please bear in mind that these are vintage, pre-worn trousers which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice pair of 1950s trousers with typical period details.
