An original pair of British Military theatre made jungle green shorts dating from the 1950s.
These shorts are typical of those worn by mens serving in the British Army and RAF during the 1940s and 1950s. They are clearly theatre made as is commonplace with tropical uniforms, most likely in India or the Far East. The cut and design of the shorts is typical of the period - The shorts feature a button fly, straight Slash pockets to each hip and a twin pleated front. Side adjusters are also present which are a nice period feature.
The shorts are a good size and should fit someone of around a 33" waist, depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 15 1/2"
Rear rise - 20 1/2 "
Inside leg - 8 1/2"
Outside leg - 23"
Cuff - 16"
The shorts are in reasonable condition with various signs of age and wear. There is wear to the seat and some slight damage to the front around the fly as is detailed in picture 4. Please remember that they are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers and may have small issues consummate with their age.
A worn pair of original 1950s Jungle Green shorts with some great period details.
