An original British Army Officers Jungle Green Bush Jacket dating from the 1950s.
This jacket is typical of those worn in the 1950s by British officer's serving in the Far East. It is made from cotton drill and features pleated breast pockets with pointed flaps, lower flapped bellows pockets, long sleeves with barrel cuffs and epaulettes to the shoulders. These feature stitched holes to which officer's rank stars can be fitted - most likely with the rank of captain. There are also four press studs located to the top of each sleeve which would have had formation badges attached previously.
The jacket will fitted someone 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 18 3/4"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 20"
Length - 31"
The tunic is in used condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is still very wearable and displays well with signs of age etc. Please take time to study the pictures provided and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
