Original 1950s British Army Jungle Green Shirt

Code: 54634

SOLD

A nice original Jungle Green shirt dating from the early to mid 1950s and fitted with 48th Gurkha Infantry Division formation flashes.

The shirt is made from cellular cotton, often referred to as 'Aertex' which is a lightweight, breathable fabric which is ideally suited for wear in hot climates. It features a half placket front and two pleated patch pockets to the chest. The epaulettes have stitched holes to which regimental titles or officers rank can be fitted. To the top of each sleeve is a 48th Gurkha Infantry Division formation flash which is original to the shirt and features a red field with two crossed Khukris.

The shirt is a smaller size which will fit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21"
Length at back - 32 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Collar - 16"

The shirt is in good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. It has been lightly starched giving it a smart appearance with some stiffness. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A nice original shirt with original insignia.
