Original 1947 Dated Scottish Tartan Trews

Code: 53649

SOLD

An original pair of military Tartan Trews made in 1947 by 'The Rego Clothiers'.

The trousers are made from a wool which features the tartan pattern along with a button fly which fastens with black plastic buttons. The trousers are cut in a typical style for the 1940s featuring a high rise waist and wide leg. Slash pockets are located to each side seam and the lining is a khaki coloured cotton drill, typical of the period.

Inside the trousers the original label is still present and states the size as 12. The manufacturer's name is present as is the 1947 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.

The trousers will suit a 35" waist and when laid flat they measure -

Waist - 17 1/2"
Rise - 15 1/2"
Rear rise - 17"1/2
Inside leg - 28"
Outside leg - 40"
Cuff - 9 1/2"

Overall the trousers are in very good condition and display well. They are totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage although there are a couple of very small moth nips as shown in the pictures. Please bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have other small issues commensurate with age.

A hard to find early pair of British military tartan trousers.
