An original British Women's Royal Army Corps officer's greatcoat which was made by 'Moss Bros' during the 1950s.

This pattern of coat was introduced in the post-war period for the WRAC. It is made from a dark, emerald green coloured Crombie cloth wool and is cut in a typical greatcoat manner with double breasted front, large turn-back cuffs and flapped pockets to the hip. All of the buttons are WRAC pattern staybrite examples which are original to the coat. The rear of the coat features a half belt which also fastens with this type of button.

The interior of the coat is lined in a red coloured 100% viscose material and there is a single interior pocket. The maker's label is fitted inside this and bears the name of 'Moss Bros' along with the original owner's name. There is a second label which features the typical Crombie cloth graphics from this period.

The coat will suit around a 36" bust depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 17"
Outside arm - 24 3/4"
Shoulders - 18 1/4"
Length at rear - 45 1/2"

The coat is in good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. It displays well and is totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A nice original 1950s ladies military coat in great condition.
