An original post-WW2 British Army Other Ranks shirt by 'Faulat' of Belfast.
The shirt is similar to the pattern introduced by the British Army in late 1944 making it a good substitute for a mannequin or re-enactment. It features a spearpoint collar typical of the period and two breast pockets.
The shirt is made from the same khaki wool as earlier examples and retains its original manufactures label inside the neck which bares the War Department broad arrow stamp as well as the 1955 date and size.
The shirt is a large size 6 and measures at over 23" across the chest when laid flat and has a 19" inside arm. Original period shirts in this large size are hard to find today!
The overall condition is good and the shirt doesn't show any real signs of wear. There is a lack of consistency to the colour of the top and bottom halves of the shirt as can be seen in the first picture but this doesn't detract from the shirt when worn or displayed,
All in all a nice large size British Army shirt ideal for a mannequin or a re-enactor.
