An original British Army 1908 pattern large pack which is clearly dated 1940.
This pattern of pack was introduced prior to the Great War as part of the 1908 pattern webbing. When the 1937 pattern webbing was developed in the late 1930s, this pattern of bag was retained and saw use throughout the Second World War and well into the post-war period.
The bag retains its original maker's marking to the underside of the flap which reads 'M. W. & S. Ltd' which denotesMichael Wright & Sons Ltd as the manufacturer. The 1940 date is also present as is the War Department broad arrow marking.
The bag is in used condition with signs of wear and fading. Overall it displays well but please take time to study the pictures.
