Original 1960s Men's Dogtooth Overcoat made by 'Dunn & Co' - Size 40

An original British made dogtooth wool overcoat, made by 'Dunn & Co' in the 1960s. 

This style of overcoat was immensely popular with men in post-war Britain. This example is made from a classic Dunn & Co dogtooth check wool in grey, blue and orange and features a single breasted front, raglan sleeve, notched lapel and slash pockets to the front. The cut and cloth are typical of the era.

Inside the coat is lined with a bold checked wool which contrasts against the darker colour of the exterior nicely. There is also a rayon partial lining across the shoulders to help waterproof the coat.  The maker's label is present to the neck and bears the name of 'Dunn & Co' and features typical period graphics. The original hanging loop is present above this although it is broken in the middle. There is a second label which reads 'Woven in the West Riding;. 

The coat is designed to fit a 40" chest but could potentially fit larger, depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Length - 40 1/2"

The coat is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is still very wearable but does have some limited signs of wear and age. Please take time to study the photographs and bear in mind that this is a vintage item which may have other small issues commensurate with age.
