An original 1940s British made men's undershirt made as part of the CC41 utility clothing scheme which was brought into effect in the UK in 1941 as part of the larger rationing scheme. The idea behind it was that affordable, quality clothing would be available to everyone of every class and could be bought using coupons.
The vest is made in a classic design from an off white coloured wool jersey material. Inside the neck it features the CC41 stamp which confirms this is a genuine 1940s utility made item.
The vest is a smaller size which will suit around a 36" - 38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 18 1/2"
The vest is in good condition with no real signs of wear. There is some staining however so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original WW2 utility item.
