A very interesting original Second World War Netherlands Engineers shoulder title. This is a theatre-made example manufactured in the Netherlands.
Owing to shortages of badges (many of which had been given away as souvenirs), a significant number of badges were commission and made locally. These Dutch made badges are very distinctive given their fully woven 'Brabant weave' cotton construction.
Particularly interesting on this badge is the way in which the cut-out outline has been woven into the rear of the badge for neatness.
An interesting and rare badge.
