SOLD

An original RAF Ordinary Airman's Greatcoat clearly dated 1941 and in nice condition.

This pattern of greatcoat came into use with the RAF during the 1930s and saw use throughout the Second World War before being replaced by the 'New Pattern' greatcoat in the immediate post-war years.

This greatcoat features the correct number of brass Kings crown RAF buttons and a matched set of wartime semi-embroidered RAF albatross badges are sewn to the top of each sleeve.

The coat also features the white blanket lining often associated with early production RAF greatcoats.

Inside the coat the original label is still present and clearly legible. It features the 1941 contract number below which is a purple issue stamp which reads 'Aug 1941'.The size is also on the label which is No.9 which will fit someone of around 6' tall and a 36-38 chest.

The overall condition of the coat is good and it displays well. The original owners name and number have been written inside the coat.

Altogether a nice original early Second World War period RAF OA greatcoat with original insignia.
