Scarce First Pattern British Army 1937 Pattern Webbing Anklets

Scarce First Pattern British Army 1937 Pattern Webbing Anklets

Code: 55600

SOLD

A scarce original pair of 1940 dated British made British Army Webbing Anklets in a good larger size 3.

These anklets are the first pattern design as used during the pre-war period as well as in France in 1939 and 1940. British made examples of this pattern are now very hard to find and much sought-after. These examples date from 1941 so would have been some of the last produced before the economy measures were introduced and the brass tabs to the end of each securing strap were deleted. The anklets have been blancoed with shade 97 blanco which is often associated with the early war period but was used throughout the Second World War.

The inside of both anklets bears the manufacturers name of 'D. R. Co Ltd' along with the 1941 date. Below is the numeral '3' which denotes the size.

The anklets are in good condition with only limited signs of service wear with some marks etc. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

Altogether a nice original pair of very hard to find first pattern anklets in a harder to find large size.
