Original 1945 Dated British Army Officer's Field Boots - Size 11

Original 1945 Dated British Army Officer's Field Boots - Size 11

Code: 55919

SOLD

A good 1945 dated example of the British officers' double buckle boots in a large size 11M.

This pattern of boot was designed to be worn in place of ankle boots and gaiters by combining the two and was popular with officers in the Normandy Campaign and throughout the rest of the war. They are made from a brown coloured leather which has a pebbled finish. They feature a Moc-Toe which is sometimes referred to as an 'apron front'. The front of the boots fasten with laces which appear to be the originals whilst the top closes with a leather section which features two belts and buckles each. The original leather soles are still present and they retain their original studs to the soles and heels which is correct for WW2.

inside the boots are clearly marked to the insole with the 1945 date and size of 11M. This is hard to photograph and I have illustrated it as best as I can in the pictures.

The boots are in good condition and display well. The exterior is good but the interior leather lining has suffered with age and is shedding with some areas missing or coming away. A section of this is illustrated in picture 8 and the boots are therefore sold as a display item and not for wearing which has been reflected in the price. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

An original pair of wartime officer's boots which are nicely marked and in a large size.
