Original 1950s French Army Crew Neck Green Wool Jumper

Original 1950s French Army Crew Neck Green Wool Jumper

Code: 10412

SOLD

An original French Army khaki wool jumper dating from the 1950s.

This pattern of jumper closely follows the pattern used by the French Army during the Second World War. It is cut short in the body to suit being worn with high waisted trousers. This makes it ideal for someone who wears this style or a re-enactor interested in WW2.

The jumper still has its original label which reads 'Malet 5'. The number 5 most likely refers to the size.

When laid flat the jumper measures 16 1/2" pit to pit, 17" across the shoulders, 17 1/2" along the inside arm and is 21 1/2" from collar to hem. As it is made from wool and will stretch easily I would suggest a fit of a 34" chest.

The condition of the jumper is very good indeed. It does not look to have ever been worn.

Altogether a nice mid-century crew neck jumper. An original French Army khaki wool jumper dating from the 1950s.
