Original Deadstock 1950s RAF / Police Shirt by 'Bonart' - Size 17

Original Deadstock 1950s RAF / Police Shirt by 'Bonart' - Size 17

Code: 55909

SOLD

An original blue end on end cotton collarless shirt made by 'Bonart' in the 1950s which is in deadstock, unworn condition and is still in its original packaging.

This pattern of shirt was worn by officers in the RAF as well as by the police and Fire Service. End on end cotton shirts were used by both throughout the Second World War with this example being a later, 1950s version with a full buttoning front. It features a neckband collar to which a detachable collar can be fitted and comes with two matching collars.

Inside the neck of the shirt the original label is still present and bears the maker's name 'Bonart' as well as the words 'London Styled' and 'Made in England'. The style of label and graphics are typical of those found in shirts from the late 1950s and early 1960s. The collar size is marked directly to the neckband and reads 17".

I have not removed the shirt from the packaging and therefore cannot supply measurements. A 17" neckband will be a medium to large size.

The shirt is in unworn condition as it is still in its factory packaging. This is a pre-owned, vintage item however so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A nice original 1950s shirt in good unused condition.
