An original British Army leather belt hanger which was worn in conjunction with the 1903 pattern of linesman leather belt.
This type of belt hanger was designed to support the issue jack knife on the leather waist belt. The style remained unchanged for many decades which makes it impossible to date accurately.
It is in good condition with no signs of previous wear or use.
A nice original item.
