An original leather flying jacket made by 'Schott' in the 1980s.
The design of the jacket takes its influence from classic leather jackets from the mid Century period such as the American Air Force A2 flying jacket as well as commercially made jackets from the same era. This style of jacket has always remained popular as they are an easy to wear jacket.
The jacket is made from a brown coloured leather and features a knitted waistband and cuffs. The front of the jacket fastens with a zip and slash pockets as well as zipper pockets are located to the front. The zip pockets feature 1950s style chain pullers which is a nice detail. The rear of the jacket features a half belt and action back which are again classic details to find on this type of jacket.
The interior of the jacket features a full lining and an interior pocket which fastens with a press stud - another classic feature to find on this style of jacket. The original label is present at the neck and bears the maker's name of 'Schott Sportswear N.Y.C'. Adjacent to this is the size label which bears the American flag and the size of 50.

The jacket is in worn condition and the leather has taken on a fantastic patina. Whilst there are lots of signs of wear, there are no serious flaws or damage to the jacket. There are various small 'nicks' to the leather etc but the jacket is wearable overall. The condition has been reflected in the price so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage. pre-owned item that has small flaws commensurate with age.
