An original first-pattern Second World War Life Guards shoulder title.

This is the earlier sans-seif version of the Life Guards embroidered shoulder title introduce for wear on battledress in December 1940. The badges began to reach the regiment in March 1941, the first of which were of this pattern with a sans-serif typeface.
