A nice original 1970s French cotton canvas Hunting jacket made by 'Colamtiss' in a size 42" chest.
This is a truly classic piece of mid Century French outerwear. It is made from a thick, grey coloured cotton canvas material and is cut in a typical manner for the mid Century period and could easily pass as a 1940s jacket in many respects. The front of the jacket features patch pockets which all feature pointed pocket flaps and the collar is a typical shape found on this style of jacket and is instantly recognisable as French. The jacket features metal hunting style buttons which are often found on this type of jacket. At the rear of the jacket there are two large openings to each side seam which allow access to a large poachers pocket inside the jacket.
The interior of the jacket features a partial cotton lining to the rear panel. There is a single interior pocket which bears the maker's label to the outside. This features typical period graphics along with the maker's name of 'COLAMTISS' and the words 'Made in France'.
The jacket will suit around a 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 19 1/2"
Length at rear - 28"
The jacket is in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It displays well and is totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage. There are some limited signs of wear and age so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
