An original red rayon cotton shirt which was made during the 1940s as part of the CC41 utility clothing scheme which was brought into effect in the UK in 1941 as part of the larger rationing scheme. The idea behind it was that affordable, quality clothing would be available to everyone of every class and could be bought using coupons.
This shirt was made for a teenager and is typical of the era. It is made from a rayon cotton blend which has a honeycomb type pattern finish to it. The blouse features a full button front and large collar which is again typical of the period. Inside the shirt the original label is still present and bears the CC41 logo below which it states 'Size C' along with the collar size of 13 1/2" and the chest size of 36". When laid flat it measures -

Length - 20"
The blouse is in excellent condition with no previous signs of wear or use. It could be described as new old stock or deadstock. It is of course a vintage item so please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that it is a pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
