An original men's striped night shirt made by 'Somax' during the 1980s.
This style of night shirt was popular for many decades with this example being made in the 1980s. The style is unchanged from those made during the 1940s and it could easily pass as being from an earlier decade. It is made from a soft brushed cotton which features a striped pattern. The front of the garment fastens with buttons and there is a single breast pocket. Inside the shirt the original label is still present and it bears the maker's name and the size of extra large.
The shirt will suit around a 44" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 25 1/2"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 22"
Length at rear - 31"
The shirt is in good condition for its age with no serious flaws or damage. Overall it displays well and is totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have flaws commensurate with age.
