An original early 1950s Men’s morning coat which is bespoke made.
Morning dress is considered the traditional dress in the Western World for day attire. It dates back to the Victorian period and is still seen today although not often. This coat was bespoke made in the 1950s from a black coloured wool and features a single button fastening to the front and a notched lapel which is a typical 1950s trait. The cuff functions which is a detail which is usually associated with bespoke tailored jackets of good quality. The interior of the coat is lined in silk.
The coat will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 17"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length at rear - 42 1/2"
The overall condition of the coat is good as can be seen in the picture with no signs of damage or excessive wear. It is however a vintage piece so please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that it may have small issues commensurate with age.
Overall a nice original morning coat in wearable condition.
