An original 1940s French Corduroy Hunting jacket in a size 42" chest.
This is a truly classic piece of mid Century French outerwear. It is made from a thick, beige coloured corduroy material and is cut in a typical manner for the era. The front of the jacket features patch pockets which all feature scalloped pocket flaps and the collar is a typical shape for the period. The cuff features adjustable straps which fasten with hunting style buttons which are often found on this type of jacket. Most of the other buttons on the jacket are more examples of hunting buttons. At the rear of the jacket there are two large pockets to each side seam which again fasten with hunting buttons (pictures 10 + 11).
The jacket will suit around a 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24 1/4"
Inside arm - 16"
Outside arm - 22"
Shoulders - 19 1/2"
Length at rear - 29"
The jacket is in well worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. It displays well and is still wearable but has numerous period repairs and various flaws. There is fading and staining along with period darns and some holes etc which all add to the character of the garment. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
